Do longer CATV cables (ethernet) degrade or slow down a connection?

I only need up to 25 ft but was just wondering.

What’s the best CATV cable to use?

I live in an apartment where the master bedroom and the living room are the only outlets for Coax. I want to run my computer in the guest bedroom which is around 30-40 feet away. I am concerned about sacrificing speed because of the distance. I see so many prices online for different cables. Does it matter which Coax cable I use? If so, what is the best one to pick that will give me the speeds as if the computer was in the Master BR instead of the guest?

You can run an ethernet connection 100 meters before you need a repeater. That is a lot of coax! Just use a good quality coax, RG59 or RG6 and use a product called “Belfoil”. It means that the cable is 100% shielded. Belfoil is a trade mark of Belden Cable.

Will one usb hotsync cable work for all electronics that use it?

Because I just bought a mp3 player from my friend and it needs a USB hotsync cable, but when I look on ebay, I always see the cable listed for a certain product, I see it for the mp3 player i have but the same cable is cheaper but it says its for another product. Since its the same usb cable, will it work?

USB is USB. There is no program that would require a different cable but called USB. USB is a standard. The only difference is the size of the connector on the device end. Example, cell phones usually require a miniUSB cable connector.
