			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My elderly dad received a black device from Comcast yesterday. His house receives analog cable (A cable goes in the house and plugs directly to the tv set). He gets regular cable programming like CNN, ESPN, etc.</p>
<p>I checked the black box and it says it is a CATV converter. Does he have to pay monthly fees to use that device? Also I&#8217;m hearing about the digital transition coming in 2009. All TV without &#8220;set top box&#8221; won&#8217;t be able to watch analog signals.  Is the box that my dad received also a &#8220;set-top&#8221; box?</p>
